Local Community Kitchen Almost Open
If you’re from the Lancashire area, you may have heard of the Pennine Community Farm, which is located in the Stoneyholme district of Burnley. It’s an amazing charity organisation that works to provide community garden spaces, environmental programmes for children, corporate environmental action days, and more.
We recently donated £3,500 to help the farm launch their latest initiative; a community kitchen where people from across the community can take part in cookery sessions and pick and prepare fresh fruit and vegetables.
We had a chat with James Horsford who’s the director at the farm and he said, “I’d like to say a huge thankyou to Birchall Foodservice for their generous donation towards creating our new community kitchen. This facility will enable us to provide year round services to a broad range of people across ages, cultures and backgrounds, including preparing fresh produce that goes out to those most in need and various chop, cook and eat sessions which enable individuals to enjoy and benefit from fresh produce.“
If you’re ever in the Lancashire area, make sure you check out the Farm. It plays a big part in the Burnley community and beyond and brings people together from all walks of life by promoting health and sustainability.
We’re really proud that our donation will help the farm launch its exciting new kitchen!
