Birchall Foodservice & Coronavirus
Our Response and How We’re Helping Caterers
It’s been a month since the government introduced its lockdown measures to slow the spread of Coronavirus, and for many of us in the foodservice industry, it’s been one of the toughest months of our business and personal lives.
Like all our customers, we’ve had to adapt, and quickly. We just want to let all our customers know that we’re here should you need any guidance or help during this crisis, and we’ll be here for you once it’s over to help you come back stronger than ever.
For now, here’s a quick overview of what we’ve been up to since the crisis took hold…
Hospitality Industry
The hospitality industry has been hit incredibly hard by the lockdown. We can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for our customers to close the doors on their cafes, pubs, restaurants, hotels and play centres, not knowing when they can open again.
For those that have stayed open to offer takeaways and home delivery, we’ve not only put together a selection of takeaway service essentials, but we’re also offering free flyer design and marketing help to all our customers that need it. We’ve created takeaway flyers for a range of different establishments which have proved effective. If you would like any marketing assistance, please contact [email protected]
Care Homes
Care home residents are some of the most vulnerable people in society at the best of times, never mind during a pandemic. The work our customers are doing to help keep their residents safe is truly admirable and we applaud you all.
Not only have our existing care home customers needed us more than ever for their vital food and cleaning supplies, but we’ve had lots of other care homes reach out that have been let down by supermarkets during the crisis. We’re open for business, operating normal hours, and we’re here to help ANY care home in our delivery area that needs us. If you need our assistance, please email [email protected]
Schools & Colleges
Like in the hospitality industry, our school and college customers are unsure when they’ll be able to open their doors again. If you work in the education sector and still have children of key workers coming in each day, we’ve put together a selection of packed lunch essentials, which many of our schools have used to create healthy packed lunches for children still attending. If you would like a copy of this, please email [email protected]
Food Donations
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 crisis has left many vulnerable people unable to leave their homes to get the food supplies they need. We’ve been working with and making donations to local foodbanks and councils who have put together and delivered vital food parcels to vulnerable people. We’ve also donated to organisations that are putting together care packages for our wonderful NHS workers.
Keep in Touch
As we mentioned at the top of this post, it’s a really difficult time for all of us, and even though we’ve had to pause trading with some of you for now, we’d love to keep in touch with you all.
