Solar Panels Installation Begins

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have commenced work on the installation of 388 clean energy solar panels on our main warehouse roof.

The panels will help us save over a massive 50 tonnes of carbon each year, helping us to fulfil our pledge to help protect the environment and build a greener future.

While the solar panels offer environmental benefits, they will also help us reduce our operating costs and control future energy bills. We will be investing these energy savings in a new fleet of electric vehicles and the continued development of our people, the majority of whom are from the local area.

Our operations director, Nicola Watson said “We are fully committed to reducing our carbon footprint throughout the business, and the installation of these solar panels is the next step in our journey to becoming one of the greenest foodservice providers in the country.”

The panels are one of a number of sustainability initiatives that we have introduced over the past four years, including the formation of our ‘Plastic Action’ group who have worked to dramatically reduce the amount of plastic used within the business.
